Typical story : I met this girl in college... blah blah blah... I think she's hot I want to fuck her.

Context: We just got done with exam week and we spent a lot of time studying together (not a whole lot of flirting going on when you're working on solving maths problems...) We've also been talking via text on and off, and I 've been trying to set up a meet up where it's just me and her. Every time I bring up the idea of doing something together however, she acts like she did not hear/understand. I thought I was good for the LJBF talk but she usually comes back to chat within a matter of days.

Right now, we have not talked in two days and I will for sure be seing her this week in class even if she does not reach out by text.

Question : Should I just next or should I ignore her until she comes to me? If I ignore her and she asks why I ignored her, should I not answer or just tell her straight up I'm not looking for her to be my BFF?

TLDR: Nexting a girl or ignoring her? What to do if she comes asking why I'm ignoring her?

Edit: I guess my question is about setting up dread game, any useful tips or links are welcome.

UPDATE: So today I ignored her a lot until she finally came asking why I was acting so different. Long story short, I told her I was not talking to her to be her friend and that I was not going to be talking with her that much anymore... She told me she felt bad, and she even said that if she did not have her bf we might become a thing. Not knowing whether this was authentic or a desparate move to get me to hold on, I did not react.

For all the guys that are in a similar situation, just know that telling her this stuff was not easy. I felt kind of bad and right now (less than 1 hour after explaining things) I still feel kind of like shit. Sure I'll be fine in a few days, but right now I just want to pick up the phone and call her. However, if I really respect my own self, I need to be able to detach myself from girls. There is no ONE, there are many ONEs, and the next ONE might be just around the corner. But you have to be willing to let go of the ONE you are currently attached to in order to meet her.

As far as how I could improve for next time, I really need to figure out how to next a girl. Today, I mumbled something along the lines of "you are a great person, but I'm not talking to you for the same reason that you're talking to me for (ie. I don't want to be your friend) so I won't be talking to you or acting like I've been until now anymore. Hope you understand, bye." The whole conversation lasted maybe 5 minutes and there were lots of akward pauses from me and her. Because I was getting impatient, at one point I straight um said "we can still talk in class or whatever, but there won't be anymore late night texting from me." Again, I felt like an asshole while saying it, but it's probably for the better.

In regards to nexting as a whole, perhaps, I should not have explained myself at all, but my reasoning was that I wanted to keep things cool because we have lots of friends in common. What are your thoughts? How would you guys have proceeded?
