tl;dr Title

We all know the old unspoken saying about how you’re not supposed to “talk” about self improvement.

So, I’m in my early 20s and I grew up with a a noticeable underbite that causes me breathing and speaking problems too. The jaw surgery will also dramatically change my appearance for the better. I made the mistake of telling some guys I knew from college and high school that “I’m hoping to get X surgery soon to treat my mouth”. At this age, guys are still pretty “competitive” about SMV and I just wanna know: Is it a bad thing I told them what I’ve got coming up?

Obviously, I’ll keep any improvement stuff(even gym training) like this quiet in the future until it’s done.
