Hi All,

My name is Will VanDenBerg and I’m a MFA Literary Arts student at Brown University. I’m currently working on a project about Neomasculinity, and I was wondering if any supporters of the movement would be interested in chatting with me. I understand that Roosh is a controversial figure among the Red Pill community, and while the project will include an overview of the community as a whole, I’m primarily focused on Neomasculinity. The areas I’d be asking you about are:

Personal Connection to the Movement - How did you find neomasculinity? How has the movement changed you? What’s your overall biography?

History of the Community - What’s the connection between neomasculinity, anti-feminism, and the men’s-rights movements? What are core conflicts within the community? What is its ultimate goal?

Beliefs of the Community - Most of this is covered elsewhere in the man-o-sphere, but I might have further questions, particularly concerning various subgroups.

I’ll have more lines of inquiry from there, as it is a semester long project. Please note that you’re welcome to remain anonymous or use a pseudonym, and while your interview responses will be shared with the class, I will not publish them, either in whole or excerpts, without obtaining your permission.

In the interest of full disclosure, please note that I’m coming at this from an outsider’s perspective. I’m a feminist, I’m very liberal on both economic and social issues, and I’m not a supporter of the community. That said, the goal of this project is not to shame or ridicule. The goal is to understand it on both an ideological and personal level.
