Straight white male in a fairly socialist left leaning Western country. Has the media made me out to be a monster?

6ft tall I lift and have a beard at 19 years old. I find people more than ever glance at me and then look down without holding eye contact(grocery stores/coffee shops). Low value men rarely approach me in class/social settings. It makes me feel kind of lonely.

Flip Side: Once I do initiate conversation people are very receptive to me. And women submit like never before nor do they waste my time and they know not to talk to me like their little brother or a safe beta buck.

Question: Are men in general really this demonized?
