I think you also have to consider what kind of people she has access to. Alpha is relative, so the top male of her circle may not be what we could consider a chad. Social dynamics are group based imho. so everything people do has to be evaluated in the context of the groups they're in.

The alpha male of a My Little Pony convention is probably still not a prize :P

I've had plates who sticked around for long periods of time but where definetly still in the market looking for someone else. Some just put me in their rotation. They knew I was gonna make good money later in life but all we'd do is fuck cause I told them the standard I set from the beginning. I cared for them but would not take them on dates unless you call studying/watching a serie at my home a date. I even told some I will never go in a relationship most likely.

A couple of them have said: "I think he's gonna be a good father." "He doesn't look like the cool guy" One even said in an indirect manner that I'm not good looking. "He not like the other guys, he's sweet and caring." One I overheard saying the sex was better with the previous casual guy she dumped to have more time free for me.

So my guess is that these girls think in the long run I'm actually the best option for them but they still want to have fun and fuck the hotter guys. Or I'm just the stable fuck they enjoy with no bullshit emotions attached. As long as I enjoy spending time with them and they don't waste my time, they can think whatever they want.

The point is you're thinking in black and white. THe world isn't black and white, the world is all shades in between. But also that you shouldn't care what you think. You're hapiness and who you are should come from inside and not from what some stupid whore says.

You're looking at it waay to much in binary.

So, what at woman wants is two-fold, a guy with top genes and is going to stay and help raise the kids with a top situation. That's just goes to attraction. Now the thing is that women can rarely, if ever find that in one guy so they'll either mess with two guys (aka fuck one and date the other) OR they'll go for the guy that's closest to the guy mentioned above.

Also "alpha" is subjective from woman to woman and is subject to change. So for instance you may have though you were beta when you were having kids but the women you were with may have thought that you were the closest they can get OR that you had the best situation so lets have a kid and lock this down

Also remember at the end of the day everything in TRP aren't really hard and fast rules but more like ideas and hypotheses. So not everything is gonna fall neatly into place but you can see where the idea comes from.
