A woman at work who flirts with me a lot (I know, don't shit where you eat) today talking about some other woman in the office. I mentioned that the other woman seem to really be talking to her a lot and this woman didn't seem comfortable.

She had mentioned that the second woman was saying she met someone who know a guy she knew. This guy is a guy she identified as her boyfriend before when we met, but she has never called him that since... only as "this guy."

Then she said, "I feel funny talking to you about him." I didn't say anything. Just pulled away. All day she had been coming by the office for no apparent reason.

what is this phenomenon?

BTW, I in no way believe this is a "real" boyfriend but rather a "friend" she thought of as a boyfriend. I have no idea what he is like or his commitment level
