I'm finding this all on the first post of ASKTRP. Under verbal communications, what does "Pregnant pauses" means?

Also under eye contact what does "pause for a second before looking away mean"? Usually I try to stare at their eyes for as long as possible and look away when I feel I've been looking for too long. Is that what it means?

I thought they said keep eye contact as much as possible?
