I've been keeping a journal, two now actually. I found it very relaxing to write among many other positive benefits like relieving anxiety and getting things off my chest. My journaling began to split in to sort of a more "Daily Occurence" journaling and something similar to a stoic contemplation journal so I bought a separate one.
In a thread on here one day a poster had mentioned how they keep a social log each day of their interactions, and that the real purpose of the journal was so that in the very moment their mind would become more trained to being present and retaining what is happening for later to write down. As you did it more often, your mind became more trained at the task and you therein became a more present person. This blew my mind. I realized this is likely why the stoics et al ever journaled in the first place.
My daily occurence journal is a complete ramble. I'm thinking of journaling a third book with specific social instances and a more diligent analysis. I am posting to share the idea of journals, their power, and to reiterate that awesome perspective on journaling. But mostly I'm posting to hear back about others that journal and some tips or thoughts on the process themselves.
