I’ll make this as short and sweet as possible. I’ve gone to college and studied my ass off in a STEM field and will be set to have my masters in may. Coming out will likely make 60-80k. I’m in student loan debt 100k at graduation so the bred is important.

I have an family member that owns many car dealerships and makes over a million a year, and is his own boss. He approached me (I’ve been wanting to follow his footsteps but didn’t have close relations until 2 years ago) and asked if I’d want to do something like him one day. HELL YES I said, but here’s the dilemma.. all my hard work and student debt will essentially go to waste. I’d have to start as a car salesman and work my way up, likely for 1-2 years which after proving myself he would then promote me to a manager role (like I said he has many stores), where I’d be making 100-150k, with the end goal of owning one of his stores (be my own boss, no income cap).

Is the short term loss worth the long term gain? I just turned 23 and am conflicted after busting my balls for this stem degree and student loan debt.
