I read this recently and it's definitely something I've experienced in past LTRs when women go off me. But isn't that also the exact definition of idealization and devaluation (splitting) with BPD? Or do we think all women have this ability as some kind of antiquiated defensive mechanism... but BPD just takes it to an extreme? What would be a normal vs BPD example if that were the case? Or am I getting this all wrong?
