Gentlemen, how do you cope with that automatic 'male's guilt' after a brake up?

I have noticed that I'm not the only one experiencing the situation where male cannot figure out specific reasons standing behind relationship failure so, in his mind, he blames himself.

It almost feels like it is hardcoded at the level of subconscious.

Technically I was openly blamed by her, but that's not the case since I have been familiarised with Briffault's Law. Knowledge of it filled a lot of gaps in my perception with sense.

But still, that uncomfortable sensation of 'I could do better' remains.

To be clear, she didn't find another dick, she wasn't a slut, she wasn't a princess, she wasn't a bad person in general. I would even say that she was kind of exceptional, if you compared her with an average woman nowadays.

And I'm not writing this statement under an influence of emotions - enough time passed. My head is completely calm.

The only thing she did to me was she showed me how Briffault's Law works in real life situation. On the other hand, the only thing I did was I didn't give her everything she wanted. I didn't even have any high expectations towards her, didn't want to change her, my only desire was for her to remain a good person she's always been. Nothing seemed more important to me.

Probably I would have married her eventually. Not just yet, because there's too many things to sort out, before I can make any commitments and take the full responsibility. The whole 'plan', financial background, etc. It takes time to organise it and it takes time to execute it. I can't use any magic shortcuts, don't have any fast lanes to take. You guys know this feeling, when there's an issue to solve, you try to approach it, it's hard, so you throttle, then bunker yourself inside of your own mind, until everything is spot on. Nevermind.

Anyways, it's not going to happen now. Hence, I must admit that it hurts in some peculiar way.

If such a good person operates automatically according to some long forgotten rule, what else is there? This is the thing I can't swallow.
