I hate coming here with my problems but this is the only place I know to ask this and expect a real solution. I am on a college sports team and I am by no means close to as good as a lot of the guys on the team. I got recruited basically as a scout team player for the real talent to play against. But before you say "maybe you're just not meant to play on the A-squad because you weren't born with the talent" you should know that I have a strong desire to leave the lower level and bust through my ceiling of capability. I practice during all my free time and do everything I can to get better, but when I get out there with the other guys I often can't perform during critical times, get shit for trying so hard, and feel immensely unsatisfied which is the opposite of how sports should work. What I need is for one of my teammates, who are really competitive and actually really cool off the field, to take me under their wing and work with me so I can reach the next level.

I need to change something in my life unless I get help from my teammates because right now being a 4th string player on this team is actually the lowest point in my whole life and I need to grow in this area so I can grow in other areas too. I should put it out there that the team rejects weakness (part of why I love it) so I can't walk into the locker room with my crotch wet and say "hey guys I really need help I just don't feel like I'm doing well enough" unless I want to get my ass and teeth kicked in. Thanks for your time and consideration.
