You need to be friends with as many people as possible, that way when someone tries to pick a fight with you(hopefully not since you'll be friends with everyone), you have plenty of friends to back you up. And lift.

don't go looking for trouble, but don't be a bitch either. If somebody severely disrespects you in front of your friends or hits you, you'll need to show that you won't tolerate that, even if it means getting into fights.

However just try and make friends and don't be a tough guy, you'll be alright. Also, you could try getting into a combat sport like boxing if you want to know how to fight.
