Yes, there is a way to turn this around. Say you'll come along, make sure it's "open" so that they won't have to wait for you for logistics, ie ask where and then say you can probably be there by 08-09 or some other time.
What you do next is don't fucking show up and don't reply to texts or phone calls until you've already been 1-2 hours late. Ideally during this time you should be drinking or socializing with your friends if you have any. Otherwise just make some bullshit excuse that something came up at work / uncle got stuck with his car etc etc and say now it's too late for you to go meet them but she can come over to your place and smoke or have a drink.
If she's into you, she'll bite. She'll even come around just to say hello and make out. If she's not into you, congrats you didn't waste your evening with her and her boring friend. Since your visiting your home town there should be some people you wanna meet anyway for drinks and bullshit?
