For some years I was slowly cutting back on social time. While not always the most well-liked in every circle, I knew what I was doing with few illusions about what was really going on. Who likes who, who's lying, who's being polite and all that jazz. I have a gift to speak to strangers and often could get people to do what I want. My personality attracts others given I'm immersed in people often enough.
Some months back I went very 'Monk Mode'. Basically never leaving the house except to buy food and for practicalities. I've been focusing on my health and physique. Progress is slow, I count calories and I have been slowly increasing the number of days I work out per week. My body isn't very attractive, passable but flabby. I don't appear chubby while clothed though.
I'm 27 and I manage a house of 5 people. Sometimes I've felt like a fucking social autist due to the effect being reclusive has had on my interactions. I'm not as smooth. I still do a lot of things right but I sometimes make elementary mistakes I'd never make when I'm around people a lot.
It costs resources to dress well and go out but I feel that even though my physique isn't strong, I've got enough personality that perhaps reducing the social element so low does more harm than good. Maybe I've got more to gain from being a little social rather than cutting it out almost entirely.
By writing it out I've made it clearer to myself. I think taking it to an extreme is too much. I'll slowly re-kindle a little bit of interaction to keep things moving. I don't know but I hope I can still fly under the radar and achieve my goals easily.
Does it sound sensible to get a bit more social into my life under these circumstances?
TL;DR: Getting derpy due to lack of social contact. Monk mode for goal achievement. Having trouble with the negative feedback. Seeking to get out a bit more to relieve the pressure. Good idea? Terrible idea?
