Your response is the best response. You answered her without giving her a proper answer. There's nothing you can do about guys hitting on your girl. Girls get male attention every time they walk down an aisle at the grocery store. All you can do is fuck her wild and if she strays to one of the guys she gets attention from, well she can go fuck herself. You dodged it perfectly. Girls like knowing their men will be jealous if another man hits on them. They like seeing their men get worked up, keep in mind they don't find this attractive, but they find security in it, so they like it. So it's better to not even bother playing the game and getting jealous and feeing her ego.
