I've put off the GRE for ages.

Last year, when I should have been studying, I decided to pickup salsa dancing. For one, I fell in love with it, and for about 6 months, and nearly $2,000 for classes, paying cover fees drinks, congresses, etc.

I needed to take a step back and focus on the long term goal here; I met dozens of women, which was fantastic. I became a better dancer, and more women asked me to dance. Great. Eventually, I realized I was putting off the hard work for the short term, and instead of going out every week, I have decided to focus more on studying.

I graduated with a 2.7 in sociology (pointless degree) and make a decent salary, but I want more.

Since 2015, I have been dreading putting in the work of improving my scores for the GRE - I settled for a 280 which is very bad considering it is out of 340.

It is a sacrifice, and I let my GF know routinely I am dedicating the next couple of weeks towards studying. Aside from her support, does this lower my SMV? I've been chasing pussy/women for a long time, but I feel like now is the time to focus. Even when I was in a long term (7 year) relationship, I still fucked around on Tinder and other dating apps because I was being needy.

I have a decent woman now who supports the long term goal here; but does this lower my SMV?

The other relationship resulted in my entire day revolving around her plans; because I put her happiness ahead of my own.
