I am curious both about how women respond to carrying of concealed weapons and how the RP philosophy meshes with weapons generally.

  1. I gave always carried a knife, and recently got my CCW. I don't carry my gun all the time, (since I don't yet see myself as 100% ready for that), and thus have never had to undress with it/had to show it to a woman, but I know that time will eventually come. I know reactions can vary depending on region, etc (FWIW I live in Utah, but will move back to the East Coast eventually)
  • Any experiences/examples of how they would respond? - Turn on/off?
  • Affects on SMV?
  • Tips on stealthily ditching/hiding your piece when things get hot an heavy (I carry in an inside-the-belt Appendix).
  1. How does RP philosophy view weapons carriage in general? Overcompensating/distraction or responsible? FWIW I have no military or LE background, but I'm not the kind of guy whose armed just to look for a reason to use (I actually abhor the meathead/tacticool/flag-thumper guy/mindset). It's just that, specifically I've been in tight circumstances before (attempted mugging, but scared off by knife), and generally I don't want to have to rely on/wait for police to defend myself.
