TLDR: Too much RP alienates "friends"?

Hi all, longtime beta here.. Always tried to be nice so people would accept me but deep down felt like a pushover. They are all so politically correct. I accept that people should be nice to each other. But it just feels so fake to me. After taking the pill my attitude has people pissed off and call me rude. For example, one of my friends got a bf and i said oh you have a bf now? Then she freaked out and said yeah i can't get one? Never talked to me again. Wtf? Was it her problem or mine? I've read no more mr nice guy but perhaps i've overstepped the fine line between asshole and dick? Has anyone had the same thing happen?
