Early this morning, I was laying on the couch. My "friend" of 7 years thought I was sleeping. I had a pack of cigarettes sitting above me on the table. I think he took one. It happened so fast, but I'm pretty sure he did. As I looked above me he was putting them back on the table.
Now, I'm not a stingy person. We always share our things with each other. And we always ask first because of principle. I've never stolen from him, so I should expect the same back.
I remember him saying: "It's not a crime if you get caught." I've been trying to rationalize why he did it, but there is no justification for any of it. If it was a coworker or a stranger, I would've lit a fire under them, but confronting a friend seems difficult. I've been building up the courage to confront him, but it seems for naught.
How would you approach this?
