So I have moved into a new flat a few months ago and one of my roommates is constantly shittesting me which can be, i.e. after a long work day when you just want to realx and eat your dinner, quite unnerving. I didn't realised it at first what he was doing but after I noticed that my mood had always dropped after I had talked to him, I knew what was going on. I know, I know, I should IDGAF but the problem is that a) I don't think this will stop anytime soon and b) I'd like to know what to make out of this. Basically he is trying to pull me into his frame but to what end? I don't give a damn about his career, his girl and his life.

A little more background (for anyone who is interested):

  • He was the first in this flat, is the oldest and probably still thinks he has some kind of 'first come first serve I am boss' thing going on, with me on the other side as 'the new guy'.

  • He is a little higher in corporate ladder position wise and thinks he can give me unsolicited advise.

  • He hasn't managed to make many friends in this city and focuses his free time solely on his girlfriend, who is basically another flatmate because she is constantly here. With him as this wannabe alpha and his chick I get this king and queen vibe from them which is on the hand quite unnerving onthe other hand quite ridiculous and a big shit show.

  • Though he is basically a ghost in our flat and doesn't interact much with me and the other flat mates, he is the messiest and leaves quite some shit around in the shared kitchen. Alpha privilige?

  • He is working out a bit but more like these allrounder fitness type dudes that look neither fish nor fowl. He has never kept track of his protein/calories intake. So I can feel that my focused training and nutrition approach is a big thorn in his eye. He was happy as a little kid when he saw me stacking some cheat chocolate into the fridge. :D

Enlighten me please.
