Basically, I am in house full of half sisters,half-brothers and a step mother. I just turned 22, and transferred to uni from community college this coming spring. And I am contemplating moving out. Everyone I have spoken to is against it, mainly because they do not know the other half of the story.

I am the oldest of my father's children with all my siblings being step siblings. I have two half brothers and two half sisters. I love the younger ones (boy and girl-ages 8 and 11) because they were born after moving in with my father and his new wife. the older ones are teenagers, and I do not really care for them. Because of this, my father is in a tight situation where he has to actually make decisions based on what she wants because he is always trying to protect me and keep the family together(I've seen this first hand). His teenage son, my step sibling, is out of control and disrespects my father and I can not take it any longer. I know my father has his hands tied because I am still in the house.

The problem is, the university is a commuter school, and will only start dorms in the fall. I have steady job , and apartment is open for 500 dollars a month for the spring. I want to move out as soon as I can; is it worth it?
