A close friend I grew up with has been dating someone from another country for a few years now. I didn't find out until recently that he met her online in an anime chat room (he's a huge weeb). Super beta and disappointing I know, but to each his own I guess. Though, it gets to me because he only works part time at minimum wage, and he's literally shelling out hundreds if not thousands a year to go visit her. To the point where he doesn't come out and socialize anymore because he likely can't afford to I assume. And it's never her coming to visit him, he's always paying to go see her. He also apparently skypes her everyday.

The sad part is he's not a bad looking guy at all and could have easily found pussy close to home. Our families are very close and he was once part of the social circle until he met her. Everytime I ask him why he's always paying to go visit her and never the opposite he gets all defensive and says that they are in love. Is there any hope for a guy like this ? Do I just let him continue to ruin himself spending his time and money worshipping sub-par pussy so that he learns a lesson?
