Are there particular adjustments that might need to be made from country to country, even within the West?

A majority of the posters within TRP are American folk, dealing with the current dating market from an American standpoint, but what minor changes might need to be made when in a country like, say, Australia? Furthermore, how would one, barring asking TRP directly for help on the quirks of the dating market in their home country, discover those quirks?
