I went to my brothers kickback so I can experience what a party is like. I'm a social guy but live an anti-social lifestyle, mainly due to me being focused on school, work and my hobbies, parties and clubs would get in the way but it has stunted my social growth.

I'm not the one to drink, smoke, juice or whatever, Those aren't part of my mission, my brother lives with his frat bros which are all about that lifestyle. They were playing never have i ever and got surprised that I haven't done any "naughty" things. Later on went to play poker and was able to have nice one-on-one conversations which is where I found chatting effortless.

It was pretty difficult trying to interject or comment on what people were talking about since they all knew each other and were talking about things I haven't done. Someone I connected with commented that I acted reserved, friendly and talked when I only had something to contribute. May have had ok frame, my posture was pretty comfortable though closed off a bit.

At this point I was buzzed (which I've never been before, smiling, happy like a goober) and a girl about 4 years older than me invited me to play beer pong with her. She mentioned outloud that she was trying to hook up with me and I was a bit confused in my mind (I think I mentioned I was a virgin to someone under the influence and she over-heard [dumbshit I said, won't happen twice]). She started flirting with me, kino, saying my name etc...I asked my older brother if I should go for it and he advised against it (apparently she has a boyfriend [doesn't matter since she approached]). The girl also offered if I wanted some coke, my brother intervened and said I didn't. Talked to a few other people and then slept.

TL;DR: I was a square in a group of circles and it showed. Next time I come visit I'd be more comfortable now that I built up rapport.

How would one handle social settings in a place where you stand out/lack experience/don't fit the norm? I've never had a girl hit on me but I've gotten alot of compliments that I'm cute (I lift and nail the [sometimes fuck]boy appearance), anyway I can capitalize on this?
