How do y'all open up girls on facebook, twitter, etc.? Seems like it could be a potential minefield for awkward->MeToo encounters.

Specific scenario: I just noticed one of my fb friends, an elementary school classmate I haven't seen in years, is living in the same town I'm in. I'm trying to think of something clever/chad to say, but maybe I don't need to.

i.e. "hey elementary buddy, facebook let me know you're also in X, so I thought I'd say hi. You love it here too?" "cool. let's catch up over a drink at Y, I'm free [these times]."
