I've failed to get dates when taking the direct approach and asking out immediately after getting the number. A very close friend waits for a few days , builds comfort by chatting a bit and then go on dates. He clearly has a better success rate than me. What's TRPs opinion on this?

Points to note 1. New to the journey 2. Haven't maxed out my looks. Working on it slowly. 3. Improving daily at my work, in gym, personal life etc
