I hung out with my girlfriend 2 days in a row this weekend. The first day went perfectly and I left after 6 hours of hanging out with her. Whenever I moderate our time together and don't overstay, we have such a great time. The second day went great for like 3 hours until we were coming back from lunch and I was looking for a pen in my car and opened my center console. She saw a bunch of crap in the center console including some alcohol and wanted to "inspect" because she's nosy. I told her no, she is not allowed to root through my stuff and after going back and forth a few times she gave up and we went inside.

I would consider this a no win situation, it was my fault for having a bunch of shit in my car I was uncomfortable with my girlfriend seeing. I stood by my boundaries which was good, but it was still kind of a failed shit test because I was clearly somewhat annoyed by the situation. You can tell when you fail a shit test by the energy kind of being drained from the conversation and that's how it felt.

We went in and started watching tv and the whole vibe was off for a little while, she wasn't that turned on cuddling with me on the couch and wasn't being as receptive to me. So I just kind of stopped touching her so much for a little bit and stopped talking as much. And instantly she started going back into submissive mode, asking me "are you getting sick of me? what's wrong? can we go into the bed and have sex?"

All the energy was restored and we were able to have fun for several hours more after that. All because I did a tiny little pull back on the couch.

It was great yesterday, but it doesn't always work. Sometimes when I notice her getting a validation overload from me cuddling her and fucking her too much, I can't really recover for the rest of the day. Instead of "are you getting sick of me" and going back to a more submissive/supplicating demeanor she asks "are you being weird?" and gets even more annoying. Then I know it's time for me to leave and not see her for a few days.
