the first question is an easy, the second not so much -

1) what do you think is the best method of determining which main profile photo you should use ? testing a few on photofeeler? i had a corporate looking photo that scored super highly on photofeeler, but the consensus amongst people in real life (men and women alike) was that it wasn't as good as another casual photo i had, taken at sunset, which looked a lot more natural and where i was looking away from the camera. online wisdom also seems to suggest that would be the better photo (particularly the looking away part, that seems to be proven), but wouldn't you know it, that photo scored substantially lower on photofeeler

2) how much do you think tinder, in its current iteration, is now designed to simply and ruthlessly get you to part with as much of your money as possible? i feel like there was a golden era a few years ago, but the last few times i've used it, i get almost nothing. maybe a match a day, if that, and my photos are definitely better now. like, dramatically better. sure, it could be a product of women now realising much attention and opportunity they have online and selecting only from the absolute creme de la creme (we're all familiar with the 80/20 rule i'm sure), but it seems to me there's other devious shit going on. not too long ago i used it for about a week. i got about 6 matches, but that "see who you've matched with" list kept growing and growing, and never decreased, no matter how much i swiped. it was in the 50s by the end of the week. surely there's some kind of baiting going on there. i wonder if those people you've supposedly matched with even exist
