As weird as it sounds when I try to explain it to other people, I've never really wanted a wife, just a kid. I don't ever want to live in one place for longer than a few years. And it's always been my dream to travel the world doing new cool things and having my kid along with me to see the different cultures of the world and really getting an opportunity that not many other kids get to get. And I know it's very red pill to do what's best for yourself but lately my mind has been changing on alot of things based around what I think I want for my future.
I grew up in a military town so I knew alot of kids who did alot of travelling. And they would always talk about how cool it is, but also how hard it is because you are constantly leaving friends behind. And thinking on my plan for the future I don't think that's something I really want to put my kid through. I want them to be able to make friends that will be with them for a lifetime. And with the constant advances in the internet this is becoming less of a problem because you can Skype them all you want between visits.
But the issue that is really bearing on me is the side effects of raising a kid without a mom. We have had many articles and discussions about the risk of raising a child in a single mother household. But I haven't seen anything pertaining to raising a kid in a single father household. Will they turn out well rounded if they don't have a constant mother figure.
Is it fair to carry out my dream of the future at the risk of the well-being of my kid? (Rhetorical question)
I don't have solutions to any of the questions posed, but I do want to hear about the experiences of other, and maybe any studies that you have related to the matter
