What are some particularly good negotiation tips or resources on negotiation?

Depends on what you are negotiating. If it's an expensive item, like a car or a house, then demonstrating you can close or purchase quickly can give you leverage to get a better deal. You have to offer something the seller something of value besides paying the price, especially if you are going to be paying less than normal. Research how long a car or house have been on the market. If something is selling like hotcakes you are most likely not going to negotiate a huge deal for yourself.

Read the Art of the Deal by Trump. Study how sales people close and bypass objections. Realize ahead of time what your goals are, so, do you want X off the asking price, or do you want to close in X amount of days?

I was never much of a dollar negotiator as a top salesperson at my last two companies.

Since negotiating would maybe be a couple extra thousand bucks versus getting nothing and missing out on 15-100k per deal.

However I would negotiate the soft stuff like a madman.
