I got the opportunity to hear about a chad in more detail than usual.

A guy was talking about his brother chad. Chad started down the STEM lane in high school but gave up to play more sports. He was a normal looking dude but was on a couple of teams each year and said the experience made him lose respect for women. He was hounded by girls and went to the prom with not 1, not 2, but five girls. And partied through college.

These were just the details I remembered. There was more and I was well within earshot but I regrettably mentally tuned out some of it because I was repulsed by the success of others. The group of us are now in between early and mid career. The ones who work out well (well under way myself) can be studs in pickup games and that's about it. Some in the group are millionaires but they can't treat most of life situations like strip clubs where tossing out some bills gets them attention.

So what did the rest of us learn from those stories? That we've missed the boat? One was interested but didn't have a plan for getting to plate-spinning wizardry.
