[slightly drunk, English is my 3^rd language]
I was reading another post on here and have devised a theory. This isn't fleshed out enough for the main sub, so posting it here to get feedback with hopes of posting it there.
The theory belies certain assumptions. First off, that the heart is a muscle. When one sees an attractive woman, the heart beats faster, which necessitates energy expenditure. In order to approach her, one requires energy to power other muscles (be it the legs or the trachea).
One's body has a finite amount of energy, lifting increases the total amount of energy one has to expend -- this is why one's voice becomes deeper with lifting. It is also why others respond to powerful voices.
While lifting does not change the percentage of energy expended by every muscle group, it does change the total amount available.
