I understand you'd rather have your ex cone but she's already cancelled without giving alternatives. I'd text her back, "hey, if you were still thinking of coming, don't. Some plans have changed."

Invite the other girl and forget about your ex. There's a chance your ex will wonder what's going on, ask, and maybe even try to move things around for you. But I'd suggest resisting the urge to explain anything to her and move along with the other girl you have.

Excessively antagonistic IMO. Just tell her your friend (who would be hosting her) needs to know if she's coming and give her a deadline to decide.
