only say it if you feel from yourself and from her that it's the right thing to say in that moment. i sealed it with my ex by saying, "i want you to be my girlfriend." be a little more assertive of what you want, in a non-aggressive way

I personally would never define the relationship. Let her do it. It’s by its nature a needy move. You have far more power in the relationship if she asks. Why is that important? Ask any guy who’s been cheated on or divorced.

As someone that wanted to dtr,, i f** big time and looked very needy,,, i stopped believing in a relationship that works where the guy likes the girl more than she is.
