warning: major humble brag incoming
I guess I'm lucky to have this problem, but whatever its something thats been tripping me up.
Physically I have pretty prominent features (I'm about 6'6'', with blue eyes, beard, long blond hair) and a lot of the time, women compliment one of those aspects of my appearance. This is nice, but they're all things I didn't really do anything to get, I just got lucky genetically. Because of this, I never really know where to go after receiving a compliment like this aside from just laughing and saying thank you. They don't really provide that many other avenues for discussion, and a lot of the time the conversation just sort comes to a weird pause and i have to pull something out of my ass to keep it going.
Its especially shitty because a lot of the time when I meet a girl its the first thing she says to me, or sometimes girls I haven't even met will approach me and just open up with a comment about my hair/height. Its nice, but it puts me at sort of a dead end.
Whats the best way to take a compliment, especially if its something physical you didn't work towards? What are some good tips for pulling conversation out of a compliment?
Thanks guys!
