Any tips on starting conversation?

I think the usual response would be "You can talk about anything", but its kind of hard when you first start. Talk about something you have already prepared like a story of what happened to you last weekend, something that you heard on the radio, or ask a random question (/r/AskReddit is great to get questions and answers).

I've been watching Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and have been trying to model conversations that jerry has with the comedians. Make an observation and talk about it.

Try to stop interviewing a girl and have a conversation as you would with one of your own homeboys. example of this “I’m tired as shit I had to work all day my coworkers pissed me off at work”. Just something I can think off the top of my head
