I went to work out with one of my friends at our University's recreation center, and I told myself that I would cold approach a girl there at some point. I didn't manage to find one while working out, so I was frustrated when I noticed a bunch of people watching a game, so I went next to 2 girls and started talking to the one close to me (her friend was just there spacing out) I asked about what was going on and we started talking, although she was sitting down she turned to face me while talking and she did something that shocked me, she assumed things about me based on my appearance. I know this is a seduction technique because I also use it a lot but I never expected a girl to use it on me. After that, I started to zone out internally and just pay attention to her, I noticed we were making heavy eye contact and we were kind of close because I only really focused on her eyes and couldn't see any of her facial features expressions. She was giving me her full attention and looking deeply into my eyes so I couldn't back down and look somewhere else, but before I realized it I broke the eye contact because something caught my attention, I was looking at her mouth because she was smiling, it was a gentle, cute smile and I couldn't help myself from just looking at her smile for a while. Then my wingman friend decided to talk to the other girl who was minding her own business because he knew her from class, I also knew the other girl, so that ended my 1 on 1 interaction with the first girl and after talking for about 2 more minutes my friend decided it was time to leave and I left, I did ask for her name before I left she seemed a bit dazed after telling me her name and then I started walking off so she called out to me and asked what my name was too after I turned around and told her I ran off to catch up with my friend who was at the exit of the building by then.
I'd say it was a success as a cold approach but a failure overall, because I didn't get her number. I also didn't ask for it because I only talked with her for about 5 minutes total. But I will say that my interaction with her came off naturally and I didn't need to think about using any techniques.
I don't know if she liked me or if she has really good social skills and was being nice, but either way I would have wanted to be friends with her if she didn't like me romantically, since it's hard to find an attractive girl that is so easy to talk to. Also from what I learned through my experiences would be to approach some cute girls without any romantic intentions at all and just become friends with them. It goes a long way with improving your social skills and makes it slightly less nerve wreaking talking to other girls.
Side note: this happened about a month ago, way before the issues with the coronavirus in the US, and also because of how long ago it was my memory is a bit fuzzy about what we talked about, and I mostly remember the things that caught my attention.
