I wouldve said. ''Because i find you attractive'' or ''I like you'', then wait a few secs to see how she reacts; and go for the kiss. Just be honest, man. That shows that you are not afraid of showing what you feel, even if you get rejected.

As someone else said "I like you" is great. My ex girlfriend used to ask me that even two years into our relationship and that was usually my response. Relationship or not, it lets them know you're into them and it has a dominant tone.
