You can take one thing to the bank...the friends till she heals method will NOT WORK.
Unless you enjoy listening to her bitch about her ex-BF and men in general, till the morning you get a text from your mutual friends that she went home with some dude from so and so's party.
Take her at her words...she isn't attracted to you enough to date or relationship or sex but knows that she is likely to use your attraction for her own validation and to get stuff until she meets a new guy for the other three things.
Move on...improve yourself and meet girls interested in YOU.

This is all solid advice, to which I'd add a few points for OP.
First, being her friend just to get in her pants is a prick move for weak, weaselly men who haven't got the balls to tell a woman what they really want and how they really feel. You don't want to be that guy and we all know that it won't work. Further, befriending her and later revealing your TRUE motive might make her question ALL of her friendships and affect her in a bad way, psychologically, for years to come. That's a prick risk to take at somebody else's expense.
If you want her, first remember that you have nothing to hide or be ashamed of and accept that it's OK for you to have [sexual] feelings for someone, then either tell her outright or accept this all as a learning experience, move on with your head high and find somebody else. If you take the latter road, do it with a healthy attitude, remember that she's a human like you are and that people don't owe each other anything. It didn't work out this time? Boo-hoo-the fuck cares? You don't have time to worry about it, learn your lesson and make sure you do better next time.
Most importantly, don't fall to the dark side and start hating her in your mind because she rejected / wasn't interested. It'll only make you a twisted, spiteful nice guy.
Hope this helps :)
