It is very useful, if you are a scripted character in a TV drama. Otherwise, forget it.

Don Draper is the best seducer ever. He is also a fictional character. Much can be learned about seduction simply by watching him thrust his hand up a womens dress without warning and getting a positive response.

Well, in that case, I think it's a terrible idea. You should never try to mimic someone else, especially a TV character. You won't be able to act like him, it will come off as unnatural, and your competition will run circles around you because they won't be caught up in their heads trying to figure out what a fictional character would do.
The kinds of lessons you should take away from other people should be principled, like "respect" and "honesty". Never try to adopt someone else's personality.
