Hey guys, I just did my first approach(kind of) and I'd appreciate any feedback/advice.
The conversation went like this. This is high school, by the way.
Hey, excuse me
I know this is random but I thought you looked really nice so I had to come say hi.
Her: Oh, thank you (or something like that)
Me: I'm (---), by the way.
Me: What's your name?
Her: (---)
Oh, cool.
Me: What grade are you in?
Her: I'm a senior.
Me: Oh, me too.
Me: I like the sweats and shoes. It seems pretty laid back.
She wasn't engaging much and I couldn't think of anything more to say so I said bye and left.
It was probably a minute conversation at most.
I know I was really nervous and it probably showedquite a bit.She wasn't giving me much and didn't seem superinterested but she was smiling and polite. My main problem is I can never think of anything to say. I know you're not supposed to go into interview mode but I literally blank out after the opener and I even have to try to remember basic questions. How can I keep the conversation going (and interesting)? What should I say? I wish I could be natural but I get so nervous in the moment, I blank out.
Thanks
