Hi guys, quick FR. My first time writing one of these. Got a text from a mate saying do I want to do something during the day Easter Monday, sure why not. Hit wharf bar 1: sit outside lots of families, not a lot of options for single girls to hit on. A two set that I immediately felt anxiety about approaching feeling they were out of my league. Left bar one and walked to bar 2, did a couple of opens on two two sets walking the opposite way, asking what the other bar was like and where were they headed. Pleasant convo but not a lot of hook to work with.. still warming up I guess, not sure if i could do better.. I guess its hard to transition when you're walking in opposite directions. Arrive at bar 2, a three set with a table available. Get beers (lights) and sit down, i open immediately as they are taking photos, offer to take a photo, attempt banter but get nowhere really. In fact one of them leaves and comes back and I attempt to catch her eye, she sits down and says 'why do people always stare at me like wtf'. Brush it off whatever. Move tables as one closer to the band frees up. Open a 3 set (2 girls and a dude). Hit it off with all pretty easily, the dude was supposedly having a shitty day, so focus on making him my mate instantly. I establish logistics on the two girls, one is up visiting 2 hours away. The other is local, the one visiting has to leave in a couple of hours, say i have some beers lets make a move before the rain comes in. They agree, we go to leave in separate cars. To her place nearby. I say to my friend one second before we leave and (with some hesitation) make myself do an approach on a chick that had just arrived and was drinking a corona alone. Along the lines of 'hi, we're just leaving but I couldn't before I came to say hi to you. You look amazing in that dress, what's your name? Katina - half Russian, compliment her on her tattoos and ask her if she's local. Say she seems like a nice girl and we should catch up sometime, she agrees, number close. Head to the girls place, hang out, one beer, no real pressure. Meet house mate, talk shit. Girl has to take friend to train station, say she seems pretty cool. Number close. Both respond positively to, nice to meet you lets grab a drink next week sometime. Very much worth the effort to overcome your AA gents. Get amongst it.
