Hey guys, just had a great week with a foreign friend who was staying over. We're both rookies when it comes to game but we took a lot of action; went to a lot of parties/festivals, did a lot of approaches, talked to a lot of people and had a great time in general. Even though I didn't have any closes and made a lot of mistakes I gained some new insights and knowledge and felt like sharing some. I'd also like to ask a few questions and get some feedback from you guys. I'm only going to talk about 3 approaches I made, even though we made more, because I feel like these 3 approaches taught me the most. All these approaches happened during one night, at a festival that was based in a city; there were multiple music-stages, a fair and and a lot of bars.
Approach 1:
We just finished going to the mach5 and I saw 2 girls looking at the attraction, I told my wing that I was going for the blonde one and opened. I was still pumped up from going in the attraction so I opened with really high energy, "Heya, you girls thinking about going in there? It's definitely worth your money!", both of them responded friendly but told us that it wasn't their kind of thing. I talked to the both of them about the attraction for a little while, "amazing view", "it isn't as scary as it looks" and introduced myself; then I started talking to the blonde girl, asking her where she was from, how long she's been at the festival (it was an entire week) and where she was going this night. It turned out she wanted to go to the hardstyle stage but she didn't know for sure yet. I started asking her if she enjoyed the music and went to these kind of events more often, I used to go to a bunch of hard-dance events so I was naturally interested, it turned she did and she actually going to a major one in September. I could tell she was opening up to me, she also told me that she did Ecstasy on these events so we shared some stories. I didn't really know where to go from here, we were at the fair sort of standing around and wanted to go somewhere else so I ended the set. I told them goodbye and said that we might meet them at the hardstyle stage.
This was a really poor choice, I could have stayed in set longer, suggested some places where they could go, maybe go with them. I also could have tried and #close the blonde, the chance of randomly meeting these girls at a busy party is very slim. It made me realize how important is to create this kind of leads; asking for her number would have been no big deal and would have made it easier to meet up at a place that would be more comfortable to talk.
Second approach:
My wing opened a 3-set at the entrance of the hardstyle stage, since he doesn't speak the language I open the girl on the outer side of the group; "Heya, what's my friend saying? You do know he's not from around here :)". We talk some and we have some fun with the group of girls trying to teach him how to pronounce some dutch phrases. The group as a whole was also indecisive about where to go so again I got this feeling that this wasn't going anywhere, the girl I was talking to was really boring as well. Again I decided to end the set and go somewhere else.
Again this was a very poor choice for a number of reasons; I could have stayed in set longer, tried to change the location or #close to meet later else. But the main thing I learned was the importance to have some ground rules with your wing. The one girl I was talking to at the outside of the group and the girl in the middle didn't seem that interesting but the girl my wing was talking to was; he told me afterwards. Input on this is appreciated but it made me realize that it's important to have some rules with your wing about what to during these situations. I could have at least stayed longer until he could #close his girl or until we went to a place where he could isolate the girl from her friends. I still don't know what to do when your wing is doing all right and you really don't like the set, should I just leave or stick around until he can close/isolate his set? Feedback appreciated.
Third approach:
We were at a stage where they were playing rock music and I noticed a group we've been talking to before at the fair. The group consisted of a girl who already had a boyfriend, a guy friend and a girl who I'd rate a 6, I noticed her looking at me a lot and since it was pretty late I decided to make it my mission to at least k-close her. It turned out she was the designated driver so I considered it a challenge since I've never k-closed a girl that was sober or that I've already made out with. At the stage we had some casual conversation (where you from, how are you liking it here) and I kinoed her some, touching her upper arm casually, lower back when I was saying something to her and arm around the shoulder when we were jumping to the music.
After the gig was over we went to get some shoarma, the walk to the shop was quite long and we met lots of people on the street and since everyone besides my target had been drinking we had lots of conversations on the street. In between these interruptions I did get some time to talk to her more privately and ask her some questions about her personal life like if she was studying(turned out she finished school and was working as a PE instructor), if she liked it and whether or not she was in a relationship; she wasn't.
We got to the shoarma joint and me and the girl stood outside for a while, while her friends and my wing got food. At this point we stopped talking and just having eye contact, I put my arms on her hips and she didn't pull away, then I tried to go for the kiss, I didn't go in one motion more like 3 moves slowly getting closer to her face. She didn't move her face away until I was really close so I was kind of surprised, I asked her what's up because she seemed pretty into me and she responded that she wasn't that into me. This happened 4 days ago, I had a few drinks and the whole end of the night is kind of a blur so I'm sorry I can't give more details. We spent the next 10 minutes discussing relationships and what the both of us were into when it comes to boys/girls. I didn't know where to go from here so I just told her to get some food while I went to talk to some people on the street. Afterwards I went to the food joint, didn't order and when the girl and her friends finished their food wished them a good night and told them I had a great time with them giving hugs to the girls and a high-five to the boyfriend.
I don't know what to make of this approach really, the girl seemed into me; she gave me plenty of looks, was ok with me touching her and waited a bit with me outside of the food joint. I also had a great time with their friends, we joked around a lot, got a round of free drinks and her friend at a certain point even joked that we should totally make out. I think I should have waited longer with the kiss, when we were standing outside of the food joint, just to build up the tension; ask her more personal questions, allow these long tense periods of silence to fall and not be the first one to break it maybe. Other then that I'm kinda lost about what I could have done so any advice is welcome.
Final words
Welp, that was my first FR, I hope I managed to convey some of my insights and asked some good questions. I also don't really know if the formatting, amount of detail and basically everything else is good so any feedback is much appreciated. Hope you enjoyed the read, next week I'm going to a 3-day festival and plan on doing a lot more approaches and write another FR with hopefully some more success stories!
