What's up dudes! Dom here, I went out to pickup chicks for the first time yesterday night with a new mindset and a couple of things clicked but I still need some more advice.

Went out early around 8 pm to a practically dead scene. I did this to get a feel for the scene and the type of girls that will frequent the club. At the first club a HB9 bartender was being hassled by a moderately drunk guy. I sat near him, paying no heed to either of them, when she asked what I wanted to order I ignored her at first pretending to look around but then ordered vodka and orange juce. After that the drunk guy near me introduced himself to the HB as something something Fox, you guys can guess what happened next. I said, "Can I ask you a question?", "You? No!", "Come on man just a quick question", "Alright", "What does the fox say?". She laughed. After that she kept looking at me tI then walked over to a picture near the bar. The picture was of a faceless girl with an ace of hearts in front of her surrounded by guys. So I asked the HB about the picture and who made it, she obviously had no idea but I think this threw her off. I asked her what she saw in the picture, I drew her closer to me by placing my hand on her lower back and asked her again. She said something about the picture in general so I asked her to look deeper and she said, "Oooh, she has his heart!". I asked a guy next to the HB what he thought of the picture and he just gave a vague description so the HB goes, "Look deeper!". After that I tried to escalate with HB but she wasn't biting so I left.

Went to the next club and saw a trio of three girls sitting alone. Approached them and asked, "How's it going? Why arent you girls dancing?". The group was HB6/6/7. The HB7 put up her bitch shield, "We are married, just wanted to let you know so you don't waste your time". The HB6 was into me, she goes,"He just asked us, its ok, [turning to me], we don't know how to". "It's not that hard, I dont know how to either". I think the HB6 would have danced with me but I was a bit uncomfortable of her marriage status and expected her to stand up and lead which obviously didnt happen. I made some mindless banter and then exited the set.

Went back to the first club. The HB bartender earlier had some friends over - a guy and three girls (HB8/7/4). One of the guys seemed to be "in" with HB8 and was grinding with her on the dance floor. I entered the set, danced a bit with the girls but after a few seconds they distanced themselves from me [Why did this happen, I dont know how to dance but neither did the other guy] I then took a step back, shook hands with the guy to establish social proof but didn't think I could progress with the set.

Moved on to two other hipster girls nearby HB7/6. Danced with them to a FLO-RIDA song and started singing the song aloud and told them it was my fav song (it wasn't). They felt a bit uncomfortable so I asked them, "am i making you nervous?". One of them responded sheepily. I asked them whether they were sisters and one of them said that they were actually a couple! I think this was a lie to make me go away as I did catch them talking to other guys later during the night. So strike two on the dance floor.

Finally, my last set was two girls HB7.5/6 at a bar. I asked the bartender guy whether they were single and he said yes. I went in, said hi. I asked them, "What do you think of a guy of deletes his ex-gf from fb because his current gf asked him to". This was too complex for them to decipher so I made the HB7.5 my ex and explained again, this was a good neg in hindsight. I then escalated to the cube game and asked the HB6 to close her eyes and play the game. She was a bit nervous at first but she then settled down. I played the game through but the HB7.5's ego started to show. Whenever I asked her a question she acted as if she didnt hear me and kept saying "What? sorry i wasnt listening". I think I hurt her tiny little ego :) I later on kept talking to HB6 and at one point of the cube game the HB7.5 said, "(negatively)Yea she has a very small personality". WOW! I was amazed at how bitchy she had become so I tried to validate her by talking to her a bit but I was turned off by her. Found out she was a mom so I focused on the HB6 again. Later on while we were talking about the cube the HB6 asked me where my "ladder" was. I asked her to guess and after she guessed underground she asked me why was it so. I said, "It's because I dont share my career aspirations with strangers". At this point I tried to escalate. I was having a hard time hearing her so I asked if she wanted to go someplace quieter but she refused. I noticed later on that the HB6 had a ring and she continually kept taking it off/on. HUGE SIGN! But as a principle I dont mess around with women who are spoken for. I talked to her a bit more while kino'ing and told her to believe in herself and some additional deep psycho bs and finally exited the set.

I didnt approach any other sets as I couldnt think of any other openers and my AA built up. As the bar started to get crowded I wasn't able to get near other girls as I get intimidated by huge/buff guys, how do I neutralize this threat?

In conclusion, not a bad night, would have liked to get a F-close but oh well. So my question to you guys, how do I stay "in" on the dance floor even though I cant dance? How do I escalate and/or isolate, any good transitions? Where should I position myself - Is it ok to be standing over the girls while they are at the table? As a tall guy I had to keep stooping.
