So I've been lurking here for the past few days and it's great hearing stories from people who have had horrible experiences with women in the past start to learn, but I'm curious to hear stories from guys that have literally started from the bottom.

Take me, for example. I've only ever been in one relationship in my life, which started in high school. I didn't ask the girl out or anything like that. Instead, we ended up going on a school trip together and just kind of hit it off. With most women, I came off as awkward and lacked confident, and I think I started off that way with her but somehow she stuck around long enough to see past that.

She ended up cheating on her then-bf with me (I lost my virginity to her), eventually cutting him out completely and we became exclusive shortly thereafter. This relationship lasted for the rest of my high school years, and into my college years (she decided to go to the same school as me). Eventually things didn't work out (props to the first person who can figure out why).

That was 4 years ago. I'm still awkward around attractive women (though not nearly as much) and lack confident. Close to the time I was about to graduate, I started getting closer to a girl but decided it wasn't worth it since we'd both be moving many states away.

Now, I'm in a completely new city, don't know anyone and finding it tough to just go out and "game". I've literally never even asked a girl out. Never had a casual hookup.

Anyone here that was in a similar situation and worked their way up? If so, I'd love to hear how you did it and what your experiences were.

If it matters, I'm average if not slightly below average in height, about 5-10 lbs overweight, and haven't figured out my personal style yet (which is entirely different problem, since I can't find any clothes that fit well, even though I'm not exactly obese). The girl I "dated" in high school was a solid 9 out of 10 (cheerleader, in fact) so I have no idea how the hell that worked out.
