Talk to the girl...really try and get to know her. Lead the conversation to the areas she mentions that spike your interest, so you end up talking about something that you actually find interesting. Don't offer any info about yourself unless specifically asked...and make the answer short..and maybe relate to something she has already said.

While doing this you need to be a sexual being. Girls "flirt" and make the sexual hints. You make sure to touch her...shoulder...slightly push her...grab her hand and lead her somewhere. That is how a man flirts.

Don't be creepy and try and drop sexual innuendo into everything. Only right before you are about to make the "big" touch....right before you pounce on her and tear her clothes off... :)

Basically, you don't have have natural skills for this, so you're going to have to do some field study to learn it. Go to a bar or club or whatever, dress like a dork and keep to yourself so people will ignore you.

Lurk around and watch people very carefully. Listen to what people say, and pay close attention to body language. Ask yourself 'what is she thinking, what is he thinking?'

Listen to how the conversation goes, rate how naturally each person stays on topic or moves off. Is the guy jumping randomly from topic to topic, or taking smooth tangents? Is the girl encouraging him or trying to shut him down? Or is she just lost?

Pick some guys who are clearly good with girls, watch how they interact with people over the course of, say, 20 minutes. Now pick some d.b. who is trying and failing. Watch him. Compare and contrast.

Listen to what people say while you pay attention to their body language. See if you can match up subtext in the conversation with what their body language is saying.

I was consciously clueless until college (though my friends say I was a terrible flirt). For a couple of semesters I had an empty class period around lunch, and I spent it pretending to read in the cafeteria while I watched people interact. I probably spent 100 hours just watching how people interact, learning to read them. It was eye-opening.

Note that this document didn't originate within the seduction community, it's from sociologists, but it has good insight and fits with pickup systems.
