How do I stop being the 'settle down' option?

Never settle for a woman through a dating app. Girls put up a facade there. You have a long life ahead of you to meet girls organically at your work, mutual friends etc.

I think you’re considering all of this a little too much in the mindset of tropes. If you’re not looking for someone to settle down with and you’re looking for a fun new experience then being a ‘bad boy’ is really not necessary.

As for me (20/F) the initial thing that let’s me know if a guy is not looking for a serious relationship but a fun fling or something is literally when he says it like that. But aside from that it’s not just bad boys but simply guys who seem fun and confident, in fact it’s more often this latter guy I like. If you want to have exciting experiences I guess you have to make them yourself and you can’t rely on a fun party girl to make them for you. Once you show that, I’m sure a lot of girls will sense it.

Of course that all seems like vague and not exactly concrete, so for some practical advice I would say consider the medium you are meeting girls through and the age of the women. If you’re meeting on tinder or something it may seem like a hookup app but older women there are likely to be wanting to settle down. I find the best place to meet someone fun and exciting is in a club or a bar and I think that these experiences are usually fun and sort of fleeting - no one will be expecting to settle down with some guy they ended up randomly making out with.
