Now let me clarify before I technically began my post, I am here generalising. My views do not apply to all Indian girls. And they stem out of my experiences.

Are Indian girls different from Western counter part when it comes to hook up (casual sex, friends with benefits, one night or first night stand, short term open relationships)?

Well answer is both yes and no.

Indian girls really don't mind hooking up but still they don't do it. Why?

Indian girls still traditionally take time. The gap between meeting a guy for the first time to actually hooking up is still extraordinarily high compare to Western counterparts.

They play it coy and wait for serendipity even though they are attracted and curious about the guy they just met.

I have seen it often, I meet a girl randomly somewhere, there is a chemistry, but only when she bumps into me another time she is more receptive to my overtures. The more she bumps into me the more receptive they become as if we both went on three dates. ACTUALLY.

You guys are wondering why wait for her to bump into you again when we can take phone numbers and start exchanging life notes with her.

Let me tell you I rarely take phone numbers, very rarely. Unless she is signalling me in her own way to take her contact information I am not taking a phone number.

PHONE NUMBERS BY ITSELF DO NOT MEAN ANYTHING. THEY ARE OCCUPYING NOT ONLY YOUR SPACE IN YOUR PHONE BUT ALSO IN YOUR MIND.

WOMEN GIVE OUT PHONE NUMBERS OUT OF POLITENESS.

And there is nothing to be angry about it.

Ok let's not digress.

So Indian girls take their own sweet time to hook up.

I left an question above unanswered.

Indian girls brain are not re wired enough culturally and socially to hook up instantly even when they want to. Throw the same Indian girl in New York for few months and see how that same Indian girl is not much different from Western counterpart. It is just Re wiring of the brain. Not just women, in fact human beings in general are very adaptable.

Indian girls in India are not necessarily consciously making a decision to not to hook up (minus the Alcohol Please). It is something their VOICE IN THE HEAD cannot come to terms with here in India.

Maybe that girl goes to Goa and hook up but not really in general.
