It is as awkward as you let it be. Why do you care about some jokes so much, or what will this girl think of You anyway, when she already "shot you down"? I asked out my coworker which i see pretty much everyday when I'm at work and fucked it up badly, sending needy texts and talking stupid shit. And what do i do? I act like nothing happen, say hi to her normally like I did before. Just accept that the thing with the girl is over.
Also - why would anyone joke about that? Do those guys who make those jokes have the courage to walk up to a girl like that and just ask her out? You won my friend - because You took action and You should be proud - not embarrased, It doesn't matter what other people think of this.
Next time You will do better, there are insane amount of hot girls out there remember that!

Thanks man. The reason I cared so much was because when she heard some of these jokes it hurt my pride a bit when she laughed at these jokes, I honestly don’t fully understand why I cared so much, but I do. It kind of just makes me feel inferior if you know what I mean (though I obviously know I’m not). Thanks for the advice though

I know what it feels like. I've been there. It's a mindset thing. You can decide how you react to such situations and don't care. Go find another hot girl now! :)
